The Business Development Officer -- Correspondent Banking is
responsible for sourcing new clients and growing revenues
associated with products/services in Valley's Correspondent Banking
solutions.-- - Targeted clients will consist of other financial
institutions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Source and retain new business relationships with financial
institutions in a defined geographic region (i.e., Northeast),
focusing on Correspondent Banking products, such as Versatile Rate
Assurance interest rate swap program, Loan
Syndication/Participation, FX, Institutional Deposit Accounts and
future products. Establish contacts with key industry-related
stakeholders, prospects and existing customers. Conduct in-person
meetings as applicable, with existing clients/prospects. Provide
insight into product development, competitive positioning and
marketing materials. Contribute to development of effective
strategies to meet client needs, while maximizing Valley revenue
and program specific goals. Conduct market research to identify new
business opportunities and trends in the Correspondent Banking
space, while ensuring existing product offerings remain relevant.
Collaborate with Valley leadership to determine the most viable,
cost-efficient approach to pursue new business opportunities.
Partner with related internal departments and teams to ensure
Valley solicits new business and operates efficiently when
onboarding new clients. Actively participate in local, regional and
national networking events and affiliated trade organizations.
Additional responsibilities as assigned by management, including
Business Development opportunities related to other strategic
initiatives and business lines.
