Job Description Job Description We are looking for a diligent estimating manager to oversee the estimation process for our plumbing and mechanical (HVAC) estimators. Our ideal candidate will establish processes within existing parameters and uphold a high standard for creating cost estimates and supervise and assist the estimating team. You will be responsible for ensuring project costs are accurate and managed effectively within the approved budget. This role requires strong analytical, communication, and management skills. Responsibilities Maintain and update the estimating schedules. Maintain estimating files and information on our server. Manage and update the bidder directories. Attend pre-bid project walk through meetings and take and distribute notes to the estimating team. Assist the estimators with making bid coverage phone calls and emails. Assist estimators in performing quantity take-offs of materials. Assist team with posting estimating projects to online plan rooms. Assist team in distributing updated project information. Assist Estimators in conveying feedback to bidders. Assist in drafting pre-bid requests for information Work with estimators to obtain and negotiate vendor and subcontractor pricing.me Skills Strong analytical skills, technical knowledge to interpret data, and expertise in estimating strategies and software are crucial. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are essential for collaborating with various teams and stakeholders. Must have a strong understanding of financial principles and be highly numerate. Mechanical (HVAC and Plumbing) and the ability to read plans are a plus. Familiarity with financial and project management principles. In depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation formulas. Exquisite math and IT ability with an analytical mindset. Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities. Thoroughness and reliability. Excellent organizational skills. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. A bachelor's degree, and/or field experience is a plus. Salary based upon experience. Health Insurance, 401(k), paid vacation and holidays.
