Position Overview:
The Civil Engineer will play a key role in managing and executing environmental engineering projects, with a focus on designing erosion control measures and stormwater management systems for industrial and commercial developments. The position involves preparing site grading plans, supporting new facility construction and expansions, and overseeing the permitting process at state and local levels. Candidates with experience presenting technical findings at zoning and planning board meetings are highly valued. A thorough understanding of relevant environmental, land development, and stormwater regulations is essential.


Key Responsibilities:

- Interpret client objectives and develop engineering design solutions to achieve project goals.

- Generate detailed technical specifications and preliminary cost estimates for project implementation.

- Research and apply relevant engineering standards, regulations, and technical guidelines to support project designs.

- Conduct evaluations of process systems and facility structures to recommend improvements, expansions, or modifications in response to operational or environmental needs.

- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve project challenges and provide sound engineering advice.

- Deliver regular progress reports to internal leadership, addressing project risks related to timelines, costs, or regulatory compliance.

- Build and maintain strong client relationships to support ongoing and future business opportunities.

- Represent our client in professional associations and industry groups to expand professional networks and identify new client prospects.

- Mentor junior staff to enhance technical and business development skills.

- Oversee all phases of assigned projects, including budget tracking, scope management, change orders, and invoicing.

- Identify and implement practical solutions to project obstacles with a client-focused mindset.


Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or higher in civil engineering or a closely related discipline.

- Minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience in both public and private sectors.

- Demonstrated ability to engage in business development activities, including identifying new opportunities and contributing to proposal efforts.

- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

- Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure in Pennsylvania and New Jersey is preferred; licensure in additional states such as Delaware, Maryland, or New York is a plus.
