Drawing strength from our differences, we are innovating for the future.BAE Systems is looking for experienced software leaders who are passionate about the craft of software engineering, have a desire to mentor our engineers, and can partner with members of our engineering leadership team to attract and retain talented engineers.The selected individual, will manage a group of 10 to 20 software engineers, providing them with technical mentoring, career guidance and performance feedback. Additionally, we want to grow our team, and the selected individual will be integral in interviewing and hiring new software team members. You will be an active member of the Software Engineering leadership team, shaping the software culture and process while ensuring the staffing and technical needs of the business are met. You will work with our programs using your technical skills and experience to ensure the design, implementation, and sustainment of our software solutions meet and exceed customer expectations. Technical roles include leading architecture and design reviews, product implementation, strategic initiative implementation, bid and proposal development, next generation solution planning and other areas of engagement that align with your skills and career aspirations. Specifically, the area of focus of your group would be related to the software development of products that provide critical test capabilities to ensure that our technical solutions meet the needs of our War Fighters. This position will report to our Software Engineering leadership for the product areas in Wayne/Totowa, NJ as a strategic element of our organization.BAE Systems offers competitive pay, benefits, and important work-life balance initiatives including every other Friday Off, Flextime, and Telecommuting.   • Must hold an active DoD Secret level security clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field
  • Experience in project leadership/management such as Earned Value and scheduling
  • Software development background in C++ and LabView
  • Foundation in Object-Oriented design and implementation principles
  • Experience with software and systems engineering processes, methodologies, and tools
  • Experience performing software testing, validation, and verification activities
  • Experience working with lab test equipment such as logic analyzers and oscilloscopes
  • Ability to develop, lead, and motivate technical teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills that translate to working softwarePreferred Education, Experience, & Skills

    • Designing and/or implementing software algorithmsPay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $147300 - $250400Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
