Manager, Business Development This position is responsible for nurturing and supporting both existing and new business development. The primary role in business development for existing business involves providing support to the IT and Communications business group in the U.S., focusing on sales and business improvement in the areas of cybersecurity, digital marketing, digital engineering, and healthcare IT. Additionally, this role supports IT and Communications business in Japan and Asia by cultivating new external partnership opportunities as well as enhancing existing partnerships with business partners in the U.S. In new business development, the primary role is to identify prospective partners and/or new business models, develop partnerships, coordinate with multiple business units, and communicate with stakeholders. Close collaboration with various counterparts at Mitsui HQ in Japan is expected. Strong interest in cross cultural collaboration and cross cultural communication skills and adaptability to multiple business verticals are essential. Mitsui often directly invests in partners identified through the business development process. This position should leverage our direct investments to develop local business opportunities in the Americas. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Market Research : Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and trends. This includes analyzing market data, identifying key players, and assessing their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Maintain a broad “antenna function”, to stay updated on the latest developments in the technology sector primarily the U.S. and identify business opportunities for the ICT Business Unit. Financial Analysis : Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks. This includes reviewing and analyzing financial reports, developing financial models, and providing insights to senior management. Sales Support : Contribute to actual sales in the cybersecurity business under the supervision of the Director. Collaborate with the Director to create opportunities for generating sales leads through conferences and other events, expand the network, and help secure orders. Reporting : Provide regular reports to senior management on the status of the business development initiatives, including updates on investment activity, business development efforts, and market trends. Prepare and deliver presentations to prospective and existing partners as well as internal executives. Relationship Building : Build and maintain strong relationships with partners and internal stakeholders. This requires excellent interpersonal skills to foster constructive relationships with prospective partners by listening to and assessing their needs. Identify key decision-makers, network effectively, and maintain a database of potential partner in Digital Marketing and other IT sector. Partnership Management : Manage partnerships, engage stakeholders, oversee communications and implement strategy for areas of influence. Prospect Evaluation : Evaluate potential prospects and their positions in the industry. Research and analyze partnering options, proposing successful partnership strategies to the General Manager for consideration. Strategic Expansion : Utilize existing business to lead the development of new business and strategic expansion in the Americas, building traction rapidly and delivering local solutions. Required Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience [Essential] Partnership development or consulting experience in IT and/or Digital Transformation sector is preferred, with a minimum of 3 years of overall experience. [Essential] Results-oriented and creative professional with a proven track record of developing and executing strategic plans. Ability to quickly assess situations, offer solutions, and manage complex projects effectively. [Essential] Strong collaboration skills, with demonstrated ability to build relationships quickly and effectively as a highly skilled communicator. [Essential] Proven capability to execute tasks and engage in strategic and tactical business development planning. [Essential] Intellectual curiosity with the ability to multitask across various industries and manage relationships across multiple cultures and organizational levels. [Essential] Active communicator with extensive interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders and considering their perspectives. [Optional] International business experience. [Optional] Business investment experience.
